Dear Mr. Right,
You’ll probably never read this. I’m not sure if I want you to or not. I can imagine what it’d be like if you did read it, though. You’d sit wherever you are, with an amused grin on your face (just because your curiosity has been piqued) and you’d scroll down and maybe even chuckle to yourself, even as you’d wonder if you’re the man I’m writing to…
I wish I could answer your question, but I can’t. You see, as I write this, I have no earthly idea as to who you might be. Therefore, the mystery is just as painful for me as it is for you.
But, for the sake of love and passion and excitement, I’ll pretend you are reading this. Let me tell you all the things I would say if you were standing just next to me.
You are godly.
You are zealous.
You are kind.
Your face is gentle and your words are tender and true. When I walk in the room, your eyes grow soft because you love me so much. When I smile at you, I can tell you are shaken because you seem to forget to breathe.
You read your Bible. You pray. You pray with me, on your knees. You pray for me. You are a prayer warrior. You have power.
You are strong. You work hard for the things you want and the people you love.
You have character.
You have self-esteem.
You believe in yourself and your God.
You stand for the things you know are important, no matter who’s against you. You stand on the powerful Word of God, because you are mighty. You stand like a man and don’t give in.
You are selfless.
You know how to love.
You know how to give.
You are respectful. You treat your mother with gentleness, and you learn from the wisdom of your father. You treat women and children with grace and tenderness. You treat me with respect. You treat me like a lady. You are willing to swallow lust to prove that respect.
You are prepared to lead. To lead me. To lead our family. To lead everyone under you, yet still be sensitive to the Holy Spirit, that you might yield and follow Him in everything.
You are sweet.
You are attentive.
You are understanding.
You are wise.
You are affectionate and will always welcome my embrace.
You are worthy of respect.
You are amazing.
You are good. Special. Wonderful. Mighty.
You can love and nurture our babies. You can teach them by example how to serve Jesus Christ.
You fear the power of an Almighty God. You live your life proving that fear.
You hunger for Him.
You thirst for Him.
You live for Him, with everything inside of you, every ounce of your being.
You are everything I ever wanted.
I will love you.
You are my man.
